Watsonville’s Redevelopment and Housing Director is retiring, and the position is expected to become a part time appointment. Marty Ackerman has headed the agency since 2007. She will serve in the position until the end of March, when Former Redevelopment Director Jan Davidson will take the post. Davidson is expected to work reduced hours in the position. Watsonville, like all California cities, is waiting to see if lawmakers approve Governor Brown’s plan to eliminate Redevelopment Agencies.
