November 17, 2016: Carmel Valley Housing Project

(09:45) Carmel Valley – Yesterday (Wednesday) the Monterey County planning commission voted in favor to send a housing project to the County Board of Supervisors.  Alan Williams and Clint Eastwood have been working on a housing project that would create 130 home lots and 20 percent of them would be for affordable housing.  If the project is approved the home lots will be on a portion of the old Rancho Canada Golf Course.  Community members expressed concerns that the project might bring more traffic and it might not bring enough affordable housing.  If the Housing project is passed by the County Board of Supervisors the project would include putting in flood control measures which would protect those living down river from the subdivision.
