June 26, 2016:CCC Orders Capitoa Beach Opened to Public

(10:05) CAPITOLA- The California Coastal Commission has ordered a Capitola beach opened to the public. The agency ruled that the gated Privates Beach, currently accessible only to those who pay a 100 dollar annual fee is exclusionary. The commission ordered that the gate and fence blocking public access to the beach on Opal Cliffs Drive be removed by June 30th. The Opal Cliffs Parks and Recreation district faces an 11,000 dollars a day fine if the removal deadline is not met.
