Controversy surrounds the Monterey Regional Airport’S plan to improve access as citizens complain about traffic and how a plan to reduce it in one area, might only increase it in another. During busy times, traffic will already back up into the Casanova Oak Knoll neighborhood of Monterey. One proposed solution is using Del Rey Gardens Drive, which the city of Del Ray Oaks may oppose because of the traffic impact on their community. The airport is seeking public comment.
