People from around the Central Coast brought teddy bears to Seaside on Sunday. And while the nearly 8,000 bears collected fell short of organizers’ hopes, they still believe they set a new Guinness record for most teddy bears collected in a day.
The group, Teddy Bears with Heart, organized the teddy bear drive, along with Seaside Police and Fire. The bears will be donated to hospitals, first responders, and agencies across seven central coast counties.
The bears collected Sunday will soon be on their way to their new homes, bringing comfort to the lives of kids and seniors around the bay.
