A known heroin dealer was arrested this week in Santa Cruz. Mexican national, 30-year old Mateo Sanchez was taken into custody on Wednesday when officers spotted him coming down a trail from Natural Bridges State Beach. Sanchez, who is suspected of having gang ties, tried evading officers while dropping about 2 grams of heroin in the process. He was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail on suspicion of possessing heroin and cocaine for sale and a probation violation.
