A man and a woman were rescued from a submerged vehicle in the Santa Cruz Harbor on Saturday. At about 7:15 p.m. an employee at the Crow’s Nest Restaurant saw a car go down the boat launch ramp and enter the water. 9-1-1 was called while other workers made their way to the submerged vehicle and pulled the driver and a passenger out of the water to safety. The victims were transported to the hospital, one in critical condition. The boat ramp remained closed until the car was recovered. An investigation is underway to determine whether drugs or alcohol may have been involved.
