State officials say the price of dealing with last year’s near-disaster at Oroville dam has climbed to more than $1-point-1-billion-dollars.
Back in January, the cost estimate was $870-million-dollars. The state department of water resources said Wednesday that increased construction costs and other expenses are driving the cost of fixing the nation’s tallest dam.
Officials said more workers have been hired in hopes of completing the project before the anticipated onset of wet weather beginning November 1st.
