October 26, 2015: Monterey to Receive Nearly $1 Million in Transportation Grants

(07:54) MONTEREY – The City of Monterey has announced that it will soon receive nearly $1 million in grants for transportation. The funds will be used to encourage active modes of transit, such as bicycling and walking, to improve traffic flow. A majority of the funds will be used to develop a Transportation Demand Management program to provide incentives and policies that reduce the demand for roadway travel. The grants will also be used to improve traffic signal timing along Del Monte Avenue and North Fremont Street as well as fund a bus-only lane and signal at the North Fremont-Canyon Del Rey intersection.
