(08:45) SANTA CRUZ – A Santa Cruz organization is holding a cleanup along the San Lorenzo River on Saturday. Save Our Shores is leading the effort to clean up the waterway before the arrival of El Nino winter storms. The river seasonally flushes trash into the ocean, endangering wildlife and harming Monterey Bay’s marine ecosystem. The cleanup will be held from 10 a.m. to noon and the check-in table will be located at Mimi De Marta Park. Participants will be cleaning from Laurel Street Bridge back towards Riverside Avenue.
