California Governor Gavin Newsom wants $750 million in part to help pay rent for people facing homelessness. Newsom planned to sign an executive order today. It will create the fund two days before Newsom presents his second annual budget to legislators.

The state will also provide 100 travel trailers and modular tent structures to cities and counties. They will be used for temporary housing and to provide homeless services. Newsom also created a multi-agency “strike team” to help local governments fight homelessness.
