A man who was convicted of trying to hire a hit-man to kill his ex-girlfriend, will not receive a new trial. a lawyer for 40-year-old timothy Rodriguez had argued that the undercover officer that Rodriguez solicited to commit the crime, led rodriguez into making statements that worsened the charges. A 3-judge panel of the 6th district court of appeals was unanimous in rejecting the argument. Rodriguez, a former correctional officer at a facility in soledad, is serving 7-years-to-life in prison for the 2009 incident.
