(05:51) MOSS LANDING – The name of the fisherman found dead off the coast of Moss Landing last week has been released. 68 year-old Aromas resident Rodney Lee Helfrich is said to have launched his friend’s 28-foot boat (the Happy Trail) from the Santa Cruz Small Craft Harbor May 14th to do some solo fishing. He was reported missing the next day, and his body was found roughly 8 miles off Moss Landing that same day. The boat is believed to have sunk in the Monterey bay’s underwater canyon (which reaches a depth of 2 miles).
