(13:36) WATSONVILLE- Watsonville police are investigating a fatal hit and run that took place early Saturday. Authorities say that shortly after 12:30 a.m. patrol units arrived to the corner of East Lake Avenue and Main Street where a Honda Accord had collided with a Ford truck. A male occupant of the truck was pronounced dead on site and his female companion was airlifted to a trauma center with life threatening injuries. The driver of the Honda was witnessed leaving the scene on foot and was located at home and subsequently airlifted to a trauma center in serious condition. Alcohol is believed to have a role in the incident. Formal charges are pending.
