(06:00) Monterey – The Soberanes Fire that has been burning north of Big Sur since Friday July 22, is now 69,837 acres and is 55 percent contained. Cal Fire fighters are saying there’s a possibility Highway 1 in Big Sur will be shut down for 24-48 hours beginning today (Friday) while firefighters light and manage back fires in an effort to further contain the Soberanes Fire. We are awaiting Cal Fire’s morning update concerning overnight fire operations.
