Highway 101 was shut down yesterday after a truck overturned and caught fire in Salinas. Officials said that at about 3:30 p.m. a southbound tractor trailer lost control near Abbot Street and flipped over into the northbound lanes landing on a car. The north bound lanes were closed for two hours while crews first had to extinguish a small fire before the truck driver could be transported to the hospital, the condition of the car’s driver is unknown at this time.
