A construction project on Highway 1 between Hurricane Point and Rocky Point in the Big Sur area, is scheduled to begin today. The day and nighttime work runs from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Mondays through Thursdays….and from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Fridays. Saturday morning’s work runs from midnight to 6 a.m., and Sunday night’s work will be from 8 p.m. until midnight (Monday morning). Cal-Trans crews plan to widen the shoulders of the existing roadway, and upgrade the guardrail. One-Way Reversing Traffic Control will be in effect, and drivers can expect 20 minute delays. Electronic Message Signs will be posted in the area of this roadwork.
