Hidden Beach Playground Fundraiser 6/11 06-02-20 18:15 DC

(News Release)

IN TRIBUTE TO JETT RAMSEY
SANTA CRUZ WARRIORS JOIN WITH COMMUNITY
IN JUNE 11TH HIDDEN BEACH PLAYGROUND FUNDRAISER

A virtual celebration of the life of Jett Ramsey will take place online on June 11th from 5 to 6 PM.  Jett was the five-year-old son of longtime Aptos residents, Amy and Chris Ramsey who died from cancer in April.

Determined to remodel the Hidden Beach Playground so Jett’s memory and energy can live on, the DeBernardo Team will host a virtual memorial event on YouTube Live.  The link to the event is: https://youtu.be/iUKXxdxXOaM.  Their goal is to also raise the remaining $80,000 for the playground.

The local effort to remodel the Hidden Beach Playground in tribute to Jett and his family has been spearheaded by The DeBernardo Team, the Ramsey family, and County Park Friends.

To date over $20,000 of the $100,000 goal has been raised from local businesses and community members. This week, leading sports and community leaders, the Santa Cruz Warriors, have stepped up to support this fundraising effort as well as participate in the June 11th event.

“We are so grateful for the outpouring of support our family has received from our community and especially the Santa Cruz Warriors! Our family is big fans! We cannot thank everyone enough. Every little bright spot helps us get through each day,” said Amy Ramsey.

Not only will donors have a chance to support the Ramsey family by helping to realize this community dream of a revived and remodeled Hidden Beach Playground, but due to the generosity of the Santa Cruz Warriors, all donors will be entered into a drawing for two lower-level tickets to a 2020-2021 Golden State Warriors home game at Chase Center. The first 150 donors who make a contribution of at least $100 will be eligible to pick up a Stephen Curry Surfin’ Bobblehead during the groundbreaking ceremonies for Hidden Beach Playground (date dependent upon completion of fundraising phase).

Donors who make a contribution of $500 or more will be eligible for four general admission tickets to a 2020-2021 Santa Cruz Warriors home game.  Donors who generously contribute $1,000 or more will collectively be invited to a Post Practice Lunch with Santa Cruz Warriors players and coaches.

“The Santa Cruz Warriors are honored to partner with the Ramsey family, The DeBernardo Team, and County Park Friends to raise funds and awareness for a remodel of Hidden Beach Playground in memory of Jett Ramsey”, said Santa Cruz Warriors President, Chris Murphy. “Parks are such a vital part of one’s childhood, and it is our hope that a remodel of the Hidden Beach Playground will provide our youth with a safe and inclusive space to play for years to come. The Warriors are committed to taking an active interest in the well-being of our community and look forward to other community members joining the efforts.”

Tax-deductible donations are accepted by non-profit project partner, County Park Friends. To donate or find out more information about this event please visit www.countyparkfriends.org.
