Today (fri)marks the deadline for students in California to be vaccinated against whooping cough. Students in 7th through 12th grade must prove that they have received the t-dap vaccine, and starting next year, any student entering 7th grade must be vaccinated. The new state law was enacted after multiple cases of pertussis, known as whooping cough, were reported in the state. Students who do not provide documentation of their vaccination cannot attend school until they do so. a free vaccination clinic is scheduled to be held on tuesday, at scotts valley middle school, from 3 to 6 p.m. students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, or have a signed permission slip.
