The santa cruz-based internet provider cruzio is seeking to provide the fastest internet in santa cruz county. The company held a ceremony on Tuesday in its building on center street, to mark the beginning of the next planned-phase for cruzio. That next phase would be installing fiber-optic cables to customers around the county, which would give those customers the fastest internet connection available. Although it is costly to install, at about 150-thousand dollars per mile, the faster internet connection would allow libraries, courts, businesses, and others to conduct business more efficiently.
