Carmel Youth Center Urgently Seeks $750,000 06-18-20 04:12 DC

Hit hard by financial setbacks related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Carmel Youth Center is trying to raise $750,000 so it can reopen and continue to offer low-cost services to families who need them.

So far, the Center has raised about $15,000 but that was only over a couple of days and the new fundraiser began. The inability to hold large in-person events, the cancellation of many Car Week events, and lack of revenue from operations have hurt the center. It offers a popular after-school program that is subsidized for many of the kids who attend.

Officials say the center hopes to reopen this summer, but without donations that may not be possible.

Donations are being accepted online at https://carmelyouthcenterfundraiser.funraise.org/ and you can find the link at KSCO.com/News.
