A Watsonville man was arrested wednesday in Castroville, after bomb-making materials were allegedly found in his vehicle. Lawrence William guzzino was arrested at about noon, after monterey county sheriff’s deputies were called to molera road, to assess a suspicious person. The monterey county sheriff’s bomb squad was called to the scene, and about a quarter-mile of molera road was closed while the vehicle was examined. Although no bomb was found, a book called “the anarchist’s guide to bomb making” was allegedly found in the vehicle, along with propane, metal pipes, and other items consistent with bomb-making. Guzzino is facing charges of probation violation, with other charges pending.
