The Watsonville Film Festival has received a $19,000 Local Impact Grant. Such grants are designed to support arts projects for small (and mid-sized) arts organizations, in historically marginalized communities. The Watsonville Film Festival was one of the first events cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic. In and effort to provide entertainment to the community, last month the organization launched a FREE virtual film festival, and this week a feature-length film is available for purchase on the organization’s website at: WatsonvilleFilmFestival.org
The grant came from the California Arts Council, and it was just 1 (of more than 1500) grants awarded.
