A suspected Watsonville gang member was arrested on Thursday. Officers with the Santa Cruz County Gang Task Force were patrolling a Main Street apartment complex, known to be frequented by gang members, when they spotted 25-year-old parolee Oscar Mendoza. Mendoza who is on parole for weapons convictions was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun with altered serial numbers. He was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail on new weapons charges and parole violations.
