There is some uncertainty as Monterey County officials have begun negotiations over who will manage Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca beginning in January.
Monterey County, which owns the raceway, began accepting applications last month for a new management company to operate the track. A group called SCRAMP has the current contract, but county officials said a new company has offered a more competitive offer.
SCRAMP said news of the competing offer came as a surprise.
