Watsonville Alcohol Abuse Deterrents-3/8/20-0934-PMD

A youth group in Watsonville has been reminding businesses about signage restrictions. Citing studies that claim Alcoholic beverages are marketed to younger clientèle the the city’s Friday Night Live youth group started the Responsible Project Merchant Awards. The group reminds businesses that store front windows cannot be covered over 33 percent by advertisements. In Watsonville local ordinances limit window covering with alcohol or other ads to under 15 percent in the downtown area.
