Walgreens delays permit appeal 11/15/11 5:35p.m. TDH

Officials with the national drug store chain Walgreens have decided to delay an appeal for a liquor license in salinas.   The application to sell beer and wine was rejected by the city planning commission on September 7th, and Walgreens appealed the decision.   The planning-appeals commission was schedule to take up the issue today, however it is now slated to hear the matter on December 13th.     Walgreens is hoping to be allowed to sell alcohol at the location at 575 north sanborn road, despite the fact that there are already more than the intended number of allowed permits in that area.
