(UPDATE) October 14, 2015: Cienega Fire Grows to 600 Acres, 40 Percent Contained

(Updated at 06:37) – The Cienega fire in San Benito County is now 40 percent contained. The blaze was reported around 4 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Cienega and Limekiln roads west of Paicines. The fire has since grown to 600 acres. Over 250 firefighters are working to extinguish the blaze. No injuries have been reported and no structures are threatened.

(Posted October 13 at 08:19) SAN BENITO COUNTY – The Cienega Fire near Hollister has now burned 300 acres. The blaze was reported around 4 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Cienega and Limekiln Roads near Paicines. Over 250 firefighters are working to extinguish the fire. No injuries have been reported and no structures are threatened. The cause of the fire is under investigation (S.G.)
