UPDATE: May 23, 2016: METZ FIRE

(08:30) SOUTH MONTEREY COUNTY – The  Metz Fire,  which is burning in South Monterey County, has consumed more than38-hundred acres since it began yesterday afternoon.  The wildfire is burning between Soledad and Pinnacles National Park, on Metz Road, southeast of Soledad, not far from the town of Harlem. As of this morning, 200 firefighters, working with 20 engines, 2 air tankers, 1 helicopter, 2 dozers, and 2 water tenders have the fire 40 percent contained.  No injuries, or structural damage has been reported,  and no homes are threatened by this brushfire.

The Roberts Fire, that began  last week in Northern San Luis Obispo County,  was fully contained by Friday evening.  It burned 37-hundred and 12 acres, about 10-miles northwest of Paso Robles.
