Firefighters have now contained 91 percent of the CZU August Lightning Complex Fire burning in Santa Cruz and San Mateo counties. Although many people have been able to return home, some have no home to return to, and evacuation orders and warnings are still in place for some areas. Evacuation orders are still in effect in:

There are no shelters that remain open in san mateo county, and only the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds in Watsonville is still open for evacuees from santa cruz county. A resource center has been established in the Kaiser Permanente Arena in Santa Cruz, at 140 Front Street.
