(16:58) SANTA CRUZ- A UCSC hitchhiker was held against her will early Thursday morning. Shortly before 1 a.m. a female student hitchhiking from the campus to Santa Cruz accepted a ride from a man , described as an intoxicated latino male in his 20’s from the Kresge College area. When the driver reached the hitchhiker’s destination he ignored repeated requests to stop. The woman was able to escape when the vehicle slowed for a turn she opened the door and jumped from the moving vehicle sustaining minor injuries. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact UCSC police.
