Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a trespasser in the backyard of a home on Freedom Boulevard on Saturday night. At the scene, officers searched the area and didn’t find anyone. A few hours later the homeowner called again reporting the same man came back. Deputies responded and located Herpel Nious nearby. Outside of trespassing, Mr. Nious was also in possession of stolen mail. Nious was arrested and booked into the santa Cruz County Jail on multiple charges.
