The City of Santa Cruz Public Works Department has certified twelve new local Green Businesses. Each organization has been recognized for meeting program goals in waste reduction and recycling, water and energy conservation as well as pollution prevention. The businesses being honored include Kuumbwa Jazz, College 8 Café, Save Our Shores, and Santa Cruz Pedicab. The certified organizations helped the Santa Cruz Green Business Program reduce the city’s carbon footprint by over 2,000 tons of CO2 in 2014.
