friday’s star spangled beach cleanup results showed that public concern for the environment is growing. this year the annual cleanup, which is held on the 5th of july and sponsored by save our shores, targeted 7 beaches from carmel to santa cruz. 269 volunteers collected 1,479 pounds of debris, that compared with last year, when 238 people collected 1,587 pounds of trash, from only 7 beaches.
