On Sunday, four boats capsized near the Santa Cruz Harbor due to intense coastal swell throughout the weekend.
The boats were chartered by Santa Cruz Yacht Club as part of a sailing class and had 12 children aboard.
During the sailing class, a high surf warning was in effect as waves upwards of 25 feet were crashing along the coast.
All passengers on board each boat were accounted for and no injuries were reported thanks to the rapid response of first responders and local surfers who were able to rescue them.
