Surf bill 062718 0739 CM

The state senate will hear a bill proposing surfing as the official sport of California. Assembly Bill 1782 was introduced in January and saw little resistance when it went through the assembly. The state has 1,100 miles of coastline that draws surfers on an international level. If passed by the senate, the bill would arrive in front of Gov. Jerry Brown for approval.
