Soquel Creek Water District customers can expect to see at least five years of rate hikes, beginning March 1st.
The water district’s board of directors unanimously agreed to the increases earlier this week (Tuesday). The move means a 41 percent rate increase over five years, which officials say is necessary to pay for a planned new $90 million wastewater purification plant.
The district said a single-family residence could see their fixed monthly charge increase from $32.95 to $52.34 by January 2023.
