SOLEDAD APPROVES TEMP. BUDGET 07-09-10 07:40 a.v.

The city of Soledad this week, approved a temporary budget plan along with authorizing a balanced budget plan to be developed by this fall. Meanwhile city officials are expected to tap into the city’s 4-million dollar reserves over the next 3 months to continue offering basic city services, despite a nearly $434,000 deficit. The vote comes 2 weeks after city council members rejected 2 balanced budget proposals. City manager, Adela Gonzalez, who plans to work with labor and school groups on where cuts in concessions can be made, is expected to present the final 2010-2011 budget plan on October 6th.
