The California American Water Company’s plan for a desalination project has hit another hurdle. The State Public Utilities Commission said today that the release of results of a final environmental impact study will be delayed until next march……meaning at least a 6-month delay from what was expected. Even if the project is then approved, the delay could mean that Cal-Am would be up against the already extended September 30th of 2018 deadline, to stop pulling so much water from the Carmel River.
