September 9, 2016: Update: Soberanes Fire

(10:00) Monterey & San Luis Obispo – The U.S. Forest Service reported this morning that the Soberanes Fire that is burning in Monterey and San Luis Obispo counties is 103,242 acres and is still 60 percent contained.  They increased fire personnel and air crafts today (Friday) due to the weekend weather forecast.   There are chances of dry lightening for tomorrow (Saturday) and possible increase in wind activity for Monday.  An Evacuation order and two warnings are still in place for the Soberanes Fire.  The evacuation order remains in effect for North Coast Ridge Road (from mile marker 1.5 to Marble Peak at the end of the road).   The warnings have been issued for Tassajara Road from Carmel Valley Road to the Zen Center, and the intersection of Highway 1 and Anderson Canyon down to Dolan Canyon, and then East to North Coast Ridge road.
