(16:39) SALINAS – A Salinas resident has announced that he is running for the district one seat on the city council, which is currently occupied by Jose Castaneda. Although Brian Contreras will not be able to file his campaign papers until 2016, he could be a front runner if the Castaneda recall initiative makes the ballot. It is currently unknown if Castaneda plans to run for re-election.
