KSBW Television reports that an ongoing investigation into a 2017 murder in Salinas has led police to make a second arrest. 39-year-old John Rodzach was shot and killed in an area just south of Cesar Chavez Community Park.
In 2018, Kris Purcell, 20, was arrested after police identified him as one of the suspects. Recently, new evidence pointed at 19-year-old Luis Atayde. On Tuesday, Atayde was arrested and charged with murder.
The Investigations Bureau is asking anyone with information on the shooting to call Detective Byron Gansen at 831-758-7137.
