A former female police officer has settled a law suit against the department and city. The litigant, known as Jane Doe, sued the city for allegedly failing to protect her from workplace retaliation and harassment. The City of Santa Cruz and the Santa Cruz Police Department have agreed to a 350 thousand dollar settlement agreement. Jane Doe was among several female officers with allegations against former officer, David Gunter who was ultimately fire and convicted on misdemeanor charges over the incidents.
