The Santa Cruz Fire Department announced late Wednesday that despite the rains, large parks will remain closed at least through the Thanksgiving weekend. Pogonip, Arana Gulch, Moore Creek, Delaveaga and Arroyo Seco have been closed due to high fire danger. The fire department said it will take more rain to increase fuel moisture content enough to decrease fire danger to acceptable levels. There have been no additional fires in the parks since the closure, where several had occurred previously.
