A transient was arrested for attacking an officer with scissors in Santa Cruz. Police responded to a carjacking on the 1100 block of Pacific Avenue Thursday morning. Authorities say that 31-year-old Jonathan Saldana threw an object at a passing motorist then attempted to carjack the vehicle before attacking a Community Service officer and 2 patrol officers with scissors. Saldana went to jail for vandalism, carjacking, resisting arrest, causing injury to an officer and felony for committing a secondary offense while out for a primary offense. It was the 2nd time Saldana had been arrested in a week.
