In a final report released last week, the Santa Cruz Grand Jury says that legalizing Marijuana in California would bring in over 7-million dollars. The report for 2009 to 2010, includes a section called “Getting the Dope on Dope”, that discusses the financial benefits for the county if voters pass a measure to legalize marijuana during this November’s election. The report, which emphasizes how legalizing marijuana in the state would bring in 7-million-549-thousand dollars, also showed that 19-million ounces of pot would be sold in California, if it is legalized. The Grand Jury also estimated that 1.36-million dollars is currently spent by law enforcement on tracking down marijuana offenders though the courts and jails.
