RESOURCES FOR PEOPLE IMPACTED BY FIRE

Santa Cruz County Emergency Operations Center has been activated to respond to the August Lightning Complex Wildfires (CZU August Lightening Complex). Due to the immense impact of the incident, the county is asking evacuees to seek accommodation with family or friends if possible.

For those unable to obtain alternative accommodation, the following shelters have been established:

  • Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium, 307 Church Street, Santa Cruz, CA
  • Santa Cruz Fairgrounds, 2601 E. Lake Avenue, Watsonville, CA

Shelters are open to county residents. Pets allowed, but requested to be under the control of the owner. Please bring a pet cage if you can. Shelter staff will help people with special needs.

There will be behavioral health specialists in shelters to provide support.
