Santa Cruz Police Have Arrested One Suspect And Detained Another For Homicide. Detectives acting on witness leads in Friday’s fatal drive by shooting of a 18 year old man near River Street and Pacific Avenue identified two suspects and issued a $ 1,000,000 arrest warrant. At about 11 a.m. Saturday the suspect was spotted at Ocean and Broadway Streets, and after a foot chase escaped on to a city bus, which was then stopped by patrol units and the suspect was apprehended. A second suspect was detained later in the day. Police are withholding both suspects’ names citing the ongoing nature of the investigation. The incident is believed to be gang related.
