The Salinas Police Department is reorganizing in an effort to spend public safety funding more effectively. The agency is expecting to receive revenue from Measure G, a one-cent sales tax that was approved by Salinas voters in November. In preparation, the department is eliminating all special assignment positions effective July 1st. All personnel will be returned to patrol or reassigned to Personnel and Training.
