2-salinas mothers are set to travel to the nation’s capital, to speak at the 2011 conference for children’s justice and safety. Maria alcantar’s son, azael cruz, was killed in 2010, when a stray bullet was shot into their residence. And Debbie Aguilar’s son stephen joseph, was killed in a 2002 drive-by shooting. The 2 mothers, accompanied by family members, will speak at the conference on behalf of local families that have been affected by gang violence. The conference, which begins Wednesday, will address how to best deal with youth justice and other issues.
